ABOUT US
Founded in Seattle, shaped in Los Angeles
Now thriving between Paris and New York.
Founded in 2012, ate9 has emerged as a laboratory for movement innovation and artistic exploration.
The founder, choreographer Danielle Agami, drew from a rich career at the Batsheva Dance Company as a dancer, and later as a ballet mistress. She then launched ate9, first in Seattle, then in Los Angeles, creating a repertoire of over eight complete works and numerous site-specific performances.
The company has collaborated with leading institutions such as LA Philharmonic, REDCAT, and CAP UCLA, as well as with prominent artists including Wilco percussionist Glenn Kotche and actor Jon Hamm.
Recognized for her original approach and dynamism, Danielle Agami has received awards such as the Virginia B. Toulmin Fellowship and the Princess Grace Award, further cementing her influence in the field of contemporary dance.
In 2024, ate9 begins a new chapter with bases in New-York and expanding its reach to Europe with bases also in Paris.
Committed to pushing boundaries and cultivating new artistic experiences, ate9 continues to evolve, supporting original creation and building an international community of dancers.
